Para aumentar las opciones de seguridad de bloqueos y demás configuraciones como evitar inyecciones que no trae esta web, tenía esto guardado en un txt... la protección para exploits obviamente está enfocada para Joomla pero también viene bien para desarrollar las suyas.

PD: una cosa que siempre me ha rayado, se supone que con crear un .htaccess en el directorio al que quiero aplicarle esos comportamientos y reglas debería de ir verdad? Nunca he conseguido que funcione. ¿Hay que tocar algo en php.ini? ¿Qué otros archivos de qué rutas habría que meterles mano? Thanks jejeje

¿Metiste bien el nombre ".htaccess"? es sin extensión y aunque windows no deja cambiarlo a ese nombre, lo usual es modificarlo desde el propio FTP, aunque ya al instalar Wamp vienen unos pocos por defecto, aunque estos en blanco para que les des usos.

Sep tío, el nombre está perfect. Llevo un tiempecillo usando un ordenador que no uso como host. Por otro lado tengo una IP estática, contratada con timofónica , para apuntar desde mi gestor de dominios a esa IP. Los archivos .htaccess no se muestran por que los archivos que empiezan con "."
están ocultos.
Cambiá la linea del archivo de configuración del apache "AccessFileName .htacess" a "AccessFileName conf"
para que no comienze con "." y lo lea.

Gracias por la ayuda, pero he buscado como me comentabas en el archivo de configuración (xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf) y no he visto ninguna línea con "AccessFileName" . Se supone que si alguien teclea una dirección que no existe entonces debería de mostrar el típico error 404, no? He creado un .htaccess en el directorio principal del servidor con el siguiente código:
y a pesar de que estoy redirigiendo el error 404 a uno que he creado yo me sale el error 404 predefinido
